About The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX (2005–2007) is powered by the 2.0L turbocharged 4G63 inline-four, producing 286 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque in U.S. specification, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and Mitsubishi's full-time AWD system. Its chassis uses an independent suspension, Brembo brakes, aluminum body panels, and, in higher trims, Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential and Super AYC systems for electronically managed torque distribution.
The Evolution IX also introduced MIVEC variable valve timing to the 4G63, improving response and power delivery while retaining the engine's strong aftermarket tuning potential. Combined with its rally-derived AWD system, turbocharged four-cylinder, manual gearbox, and electronically controlled differentials, the Evo IX represents one of the most developed versions of Mitsubishi's long-running Lancer Evolution platform.
