The Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG (W163, 2000–2003) was one of the earliest AMG performance SUVs, powered by a naturally aspirated 5.4L M113 V8 producing 342 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Its drivetrain paired the V8 with a 5-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4MATIC all-wheel drive, while AMG added firmer suspension tuning, larger brakes, revised steering, and distinctive 18-inch wheels.
