The Mercedes-AMG G 63 (W465, 2025–present) is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged M177 V8 with a 48-volt integrated starter-generator, producing 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, with an additional 20 hp available from the electric assist system. Power is sent through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed automatic transmission and fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, while the chassis uses adaptive damping, an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential, and independent front suspension.

The W465 also introduces updated chassis and electronic systems while retaining the G-Class's low-range transfer case, three locking differentials, ladder-frame construction, and solid rear axle. AMG's variable AWD, adaptive damping, revised steering, and selectable drive modes allow the G 63 to manage its V8 output on pavement while preserving the mechanical hardware that gives the G-Class its off-road capability.
