The powertrain drops a traditional gearbox entirely in favor of the Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) system. A mid-mounted 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 works alongside three electric motors and an 800-volt battery pack to deliver a combined 1,500 horsepower and 1,475 lb-ft of torque directly to the rear wheels. A hydraulic fluid coupling manages power transfer at low speeds while the electric motors supply instant torque fill, allowing the V8 to lock directly into a single fixed gear ratio for uninterrupted acceleration from a standstill to top speed.
