Ford built the Raptor R as an uncompromising apex predator for high-speed desert running, bringing raw supercharged V8 muscle back into the high-performance pickup segment. Unlike standard EcoBoost V6 variants, this model features an aggressive power dome hood, Code Orange exterior accents, and massive 37-inch factory tires. Its widebody stance and long-travel suspension allow it to conquer desert dunes and harsh terrain at speeds that would break ordinary full-size trucks.

Under the vented hood sits a supercharged 5.2-liter "Predator" V8 adapted straight from the Mustang Shelby GT500, recalibrated to push 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. Power routes through a heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission, a torque-on-demand transfer case, and an electronic-locking rear axle. The chassis relies on Fox 3.1 Live Valve internal bypass dampers and a 5-link rear suspension setup, reading terrain inputs hundreds of times per second to maintain wheel contact during extreme off-road impacts.
