The Acura ZDX was an early attempt by Acura to blend the practicality of an SUV with the sleek profile of a coupe. Introduced around 2010, the ZDX featured a fastback roofline, high ride height, and wide stance, creating a shape that did not quite fit into any established category at the time. It was based on the same general platform as the Acura MDX, but its dramatically sloping rear and coupe-like proportions made it far more focused on style than pure practicality.

At the time of its release, the concept of a coupe-SUV was still unfamiliar to most buyers, and the ZDX struggled to find an audience despite its premium interior and strong V6 performance.
